Features will be children's games and contests, a horseshoe tournament and a baseball game at 2 m. between Bob Robertson's Albany recreation team and the Portland All-Star squad. "Grassman of the Year" contest is moving into Its final stages as local agricultural leaders throughout Oregon work toward the selection of their county grassman for 1954. County winners are to be named by August 15 in order that the candidate's application may be readied for the state contest. Sponsor of the state and regional "Grassman of the Year" contest is the Agricultural committee of the Portland Chamber of Commerce. The purpose of the contest is to select and give recognition to the accomplishment of farm and ranch operators who have done Pat Nyman, Jefferson high School student, and Future Home-makers of' America state editor, will attend the Pacific Regional FPA meeting in Logan, Utah, July 18 to the 25.
