Town-send, 52, Rt. 1, died Thursday morning in a Portland hospital following a long illness. He was born in Liberal and had lived in Molalla for three years. Most of his life he lived in Portland and worked as a welder for the 1 1 a city water bureau. Poor health forced him to retire two years ago.

He was a member of Molalla Lodge No. 178 AF and AM, and of Orchid chapter No. 150 Order of Eastern Star of Molalla. He is survived by his widow Nina; three children, Eva, Jesse and Jay Jean, all at home; and two brothers, George Astoria, and Ralphs Wesley, Calif. The funeral will be at 2 p.m.
