Friday at the First Unitarian Church, TURNER A prospective new members' brunch by the Salem Woman's Service Club will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Willamette Valley Vineyards, 8800 Enchanted Way SE, Turner. Dixie Montgomery, club spokeswoman, said it started 51 years ago as the Salem Junior Woman's Club. This year, the club changed its name and eliminated age restrictions, she said. Guest speaker at the brunch will be Jess Armas, who works in the Child Abuse Prevention Center.

Among the projects of the 20-member club is support for the Gilbert House Children's Museum. For club information call president Pam Helms at 393-6030. Volunteers of the year named Bob and Jerri Saunders of Salem have been named Volunteers of the Year by the Oregon Games for the Physically Limited. They were cited at the recent annual banquet of the games for their 10 years of involvement in recruiting and training other volunteers. The volunteers spend an hour in the mock jail telephoning friends and associates to raise their bail in the form of pledges to the March of Dimes. She was born in Winona, and moved to Monitor as a child. She came to the Salem area more than 60 years ago and had been a homemaker and farmer. She was a member of Salem Foursquare Church, and she enjoyed gardening. She married Harold A. Watenpaugh in 1924; he died in 1951.

She later married Noble Ragland, who died in 1977. Survivors include her son, Jim Watenpaugh of Wasilla, Alaska; stepson, James Ragland of Ashland; brother, Charles Biggins of Colton; seven grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren. Services will begin at 3 p.m. Friday in Rigdon-Ransom mortuary. Private interment will be in Belcrest Memorial Park.

Visiting will be from noon to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday in the mortuary. SJ, 11190 Kenneth Virgil Naeve Oct 19, 1908 Oct 30, 1990 WOODBURN Kenneth Virgil Naeve, 82, died Tuesday in a Tualatin hospital.

He was born in Wagner, S.D., and lived in Portland and Yacolt, before moving to Woodburn 25 years ago. He married Cleo D. Admire Sept. 12, 1934, in Huron, S.D. He worked in retail sales and business management.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners and the United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Patricia Ann Blow of San Jose, and Linda Lee Marsh of Battleground, five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services and Masonic ritualistic services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday in the church. Vault interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Vancouver, Wash.

Arrangements are by Cornwell mortuary. Contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in Portland. SJ, 11190 Lola M. Felton Dec. 28, 1908 Oct 31, 1990 ALBANY Lola M.

Felton, 81, died Wednesday in Albany. She was born in Avon, S.D. In 1948, she moved to Lebanon from Keystone, S.D. From 1951 to 1956, she resided in Shedd, then moving to Harrisburg. In 1957, she moved to Lyons and later to Albany in 1965.

She was a member of the Fairview Mennonite Church, Albany and enjoyed the church sewing group. She was a member of the Albany Senior Citizens. She married Roy A. Felton on Jan. 6, 1930, in Winner, S.D.

He died in 1973. Survivors include her daughters, Helen Comber and Dorothy McLaren, both of Lebanon, Lorretta McLaren of Shedd, Mary Henderson of Corvallis, and Leona Ferguson of Oregon City; sons, Kenneth of Sublimity, Dan of Lyons, and Richard of Albany; brothers, Alfred Dahlenburg of Shaw and Gerald Rockwell of Lyons; 26 grandchildren; and 27 greatgrandchildren. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Friday in the church. Interment will be in the Lebanon Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Visiting will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Friday in Huston mortuary, Lebanon. Contributions may be made to the church. SJ, 11190 Rosalie M.

Dumbeck Feb. 19, 1924 Oct 29, 1990 DEPOE BAY Rosalie Marie Dumbeck, 66, died Monday in Sydney, Australia. She was born in Brooks and came to Depoe Bay in 1982. She had worked for the state Employment Division in Pendleton for more than 20 years. She had served on Depoe Bay's city council since 1987.

Her hobbies included needlework. She married Aaron Dumbeck on May 26, 1947, in Salem; he died in 1984. Survivors include her daughter, Pat Turpen of Salem; sons, Roger of Pomeroy, and Don of Klamath Falls; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bateman mortuary.

Contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice. SJ, 11190 Carson Lawrence Sr. March 16, 1913 Oct 29, 1990 Memorial services for Carson A. Lawrence 77, of Salem, who died Monday, will begin at 11 a.m. Friday in the Scottish Rite Temple.

Ritualistic services will be provided by the Ainsworth Masonic Lodge. Interment will be private. Arrangements are by Virgil T. Golden mortuary. SJ, 11190 NEWBERG Orin Wilbur Eide, 87, died Sunday in a Newberg care center.

He was born and raised in Chase-burg, Wis. In 1908 he moved to Nis-land, S.D. with his family. He was a farm worker, road contraction worker, and U.S. Postal Service worker.

He married Clara Hulce on Feb. 23, 1929, in Newell, S.D. She died previously. In 1947 they moved to Newberg to run their dairy farmranch. He also was a realtor until his retirement.

In 1986 he moved to Friendship Manor, Newberg. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. Survivors include his sons, Maurice of Vancouver, and Sterling of Kenai, Alaska; daughters, Janet Umf-leet of Newberg, Arlie Smith of Grants Pass, and Judy Garland of Vashon Island, 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will begin at 1:30 p.m.

Friday in Attrell's Newberg mortuary. Interment will be in Valley View Cemetery, Newberg. Contributions may be made to the church. SJ, 11190 Warren G. Walruff Oct 1,1935 Oct 30, 1990 WOODBURN Services for Warren Gilbert Walruff, 55, who died Tuesday, will begin at 11 a.m.

Saturday in Woodburn Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Floyd Edward Rust, 84, formerly of Albany, died Tuesday in Custer, S.D. He was born in Gross, and lived in Drain and Yoncalla before moving to Albany where he lived until moving to Edgemont in 1983.

He was a logger until he retired in the early 1960s. He married Lena Gossel July 6, 1933. She died in 1981. He married Inez Wallace Aug. 30, 1983, in Hot Springs, S.D.

He was a member of the Jefferson Christian Church and the Edgemont Senior Citizens. Survivors include his wife; sons, Max Dan and Sam all of Albany; daughters, Verl Ann McMichael of Drain, and Nyla Jean Hall of Vivian, S.D., stepsons, Jack Wallace of Edgemont, and Jim Wallace of Black Hawk, S.D.; stepdaughter, Judy Wallace of Edgemont; mother, Nina Rust of Roseburg; brothers, George and Melvin, both of Drain, David of Portland, and Will-iard of Spencer, sisters, Eva Barney of Eugene, Ida Nelson of Dallas, Phyllis McMeekan of Roseburg, Clara Gossel of Hot Springs, Meda Brown of Oakland, and Florence Governor of McMinnville; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. No local services will be held. Interment will be in Jefferson Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m.

Monday and Tuesday at Fisher mortuary, Albany. SJ, 11190 Blanche B. Graves May 26, 1899 Oct 30, 1990 McMINNVILLE Blanche B. Graves, 91, died Tuesday in McMinnville. She was born in Gentry, and came to McMinnville in 1963.

She married Cecil W. Graves on May 1, 1917, in San Jose, Calif. She and her husband served as AMF (formerly American Sunday School Union) missionaries in Nevada for 17 years and in California for 19 years, establishing Sunday schools, developing churches, and conducting vacation Bible schools and youth camps. The couple also served churches in the McMinnville area. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church for 26 years.

Her husband died in 1978. She is survived by her sons, Fred W. of Beaverton and Theodore W. of McMinnville; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Services will begin at 10 a.m.

Saturday in Macy Son mortuary, with interment in Evergreen Memorial Park. Visiting will take place before the service on Saturday. Contributions may be made to the Royal Bridges Youth Camp, Battle Ground, in care of the mortuary. SJ, 11190 July 12, 1903 Oct 30, 1990 WOODBURN Muriel Juliet Bergh, 87, died Tuesday in Silverton. She was born in Albert Lea, and graduated from teachers' college in Minot, N.D.

She came to Wood-burn in 1965. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She married Olaf Bergh on Oct. 2, 1927, in Ray, N.D.; he died in 1979. Survivors include her brother, Irving Nelson of Silverton.

Private services and interment will be in Pacific Lutheran Cemetery, Seattle. Local arrangements are by Simon mortuary, Woodburn. SJ, 11190 Olie T. Wells Nov. 1,1912 Oct 30, 1990 LEBANON- Olie T.

Wells, 77, died Tuesday in Lebanon. He was born in Selmer, Tenn. He worked for 26'j years at Hercules Inc. as a machinist until retiring in 1971, when he moved to Lebanon. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He married Inez J. Trawick on Nov. 3, 1934 in Quitman, Ark. He was a member of the California Oil Workers Union and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Pinole, Calif. Survivors include his wife; son, Larry of Knightsen, daughter, Phylis O'Driscoll of Lebanon; brother, L.B.

"Bob" of Grants Pass; sisters, Vera Rhinehart of Southhaven, Helen Skaggs and Jean Murphy, both of Memphis, Ruby King of Kennewick, and Nellie Fod-roczi of Fresno, seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday in Jost mortuary. Interment will be in Lebanon I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the Lebanon United Methodist Church or Lebanon Community Hospital. SJ, 11190 Alice M.E. Swanson April 9, 1900 Oct 29, 1990 Services for Alice M.E. Swanson, 90, of Salem, who died Monday in Salem will begin at 11 a.m. Friday in Unger mortuary, Silverton.

She was born in Odanah, Wis. In 1902 she came to Oregon, residing in Roseburg and Sweet Home. She moved to Silverton in 1916. She married Bert Swanson on Sept. 13, 1919, in Silverton.

He died in 1958. In 1960 she moved to Salem. She enjoyed crocheting and flower gardening. Survivors include her sons, Robert of Keizer and Richard of Sweet Home; daughter, Margaret LaDue of Salem; sisters, Lieta Gustafson, Iva Solberg, and Lila Person, all of Portland; 13 grandchildren; and 17 greatgrandchildren. Interment will be in Miller Cemetery, Silverton.

Visiting will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday in mortuary. SJ, 11190 Nolan A. Nixon Feb. 20, 1928 Oct 30, 1990 Services for Nolan A.

Nixon, 62, of Salem who died Tuesday will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Howell-Edwards-Doerksen mortuary. He is survived by his wife, Rose-marie Nixon of Salem; sons, Danny of Gig Harbor, and Gary of Napa, daughters, Diane Nelson and Linda Nixon, both of Salem; brothers, Bill and David, both of Los Angeles; sisters, Ethel Porshe of Los Angeles, Nora Church and Darlene Mautz, both of Silverton; and seven grandchildren. 15, 1914 Oct 30, 1990 ALSEA John O'Brien, 75, died Tuesday in Alsea. He was born and raised in Glenoma, Wash. He married Marguerite Pit-tman on Nov. 6, 1939, in Midland, Wash. In 1944, he moved to the Alsea-Waldport-Toledo area.

He was a self-employed logger, retiring in 1959 to operate his ranch. He was a member of the Toledo Elks Lodge and St. Mary's Catholic Church, Corvallis. He enjoyed farming. He was born in Valiant, and came to the Salem area from California in 1982. He is survived by his sons, Jeffery of Aumsville and Carl of Fremont, sister, Nora Messicar, and brother, Ed, both of Eagle, Idaho; six grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren.
