19, 1917-Jan. 17, 1999 Charlie Peterson, 81, of Salem died Sunday. He was born in Lynn, and served in World War II and the Korean War. He spent most of his life in Massachusetts. was an engineer, retiring in 1980.

He moved to Keizer in 1989. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Naomi, whom he married in 1987; son, Jerry Esmay of Clifton, daughters, Mary Sherber of Nahant, and Barbara Rhode of Eugene; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. No services will be held, and arrangements are by Rigdon-Ran-som Colonial Chapel.

Contributions: Willamette Valley Hospice. Helen M.Yeager March 15, 1912 Jan. 16, 1999 SUBLIMITY Helen Yeager, 86, died Saturday. She was born in Portland and graduated from Franklin High School in 1930. She volunteered with the Oregon Agate Mineral Society, Red Cross and United Good Neighbors.

She was a Grey Lady for the Veterans Administration Hospital for more than 25 years. She was active in the Audubon Society and Oregon Federation of Garden Clubs. Her husband, Marshall, died in 1966. Survivors include her brother, William Sanders Sr. of Salem; and sister, Doris Latshaw of Gresham.

At her request no services will be held. Inurnment will be in Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland. Contributions: American Red Cross. Kelnisr Felix WatHo Dec. Jan.

14, 1999 Helmer Watilo, 89, of Salem died Jan. 14. He was born in Lincoln Creek Valley, near Centralia, and served in the Army during World War II. He married Thelma in 1941 and settled in Salem in 1954. He was a highway maintenance man for the state of Oregon and a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and golf. Survivors include his wife; sons, Donald of Sacramento, and Robert of Salem; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Private family services will be held later. Inurnment will be in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Arrangements are by Spencer, Libby Powell Funeral Home in The Dalles.

Mary Weaver Aug. 14, 1909-Jan. 19, 1999 PORTLAND Mary Weaver, 89, died Tuesday. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and graduated from Salem High School.

She worked in Lipman's Tea Room and in a bakery in Salem. She married William in 1927, and he died in 1995. She lived in the Portland area for 60 years and was a member of the Eagles and Eastern Star. Survivors include her daughters, Mary Fromherz of St. Paul and Patricia Smith of Portland; eight grandchildren; and 22 greatgrandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. today in Holman's Funeral Service in Portland. Private interment will be in Belcrest Memorial Park in Salem. Contributions: American Cancer Society or American Heart Association. THEATER "All in the Timing," 6:30 p.m.

She was born in Demar, Kan. She loved gardening and flowers. Her husband, Lee, died in 1987. Survivors include her son, Donald of Salem; daughter, Barbara Sackett of Jefferson; brothers, Albert Hilgers of Salem and Lafe Hilgers of Kennewick, sisters, Irene Sigmund and Mar-garett Mauss, both of Bend, Nettie Dunmyer of Lebanon and Lucile Breathhauer of Hillsboro; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visiting will be noon to 5 p.m.

Friday and 9 a.m. to service time Saturday in Howell-Edward-Doerksen Chapel of the Gardens. Services and interment will be noon Saturday in Belcrest Memorial Park. GH13 Weaver Feb. 4.

1918-Jan. 18, 1999 Otho Weaver, 80, of Salem died Monday. He was born in Drumright, and served in the Army during World War II. He was a berry and Christmas tree fanner, a logger in Sweet Home for many years and worked for Tektronix for 18 years. He enjoyed farming and gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Eva, whom he married in 1939; son, Daniel of Vancouver, daughter, Patricia Martin of Salem; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visiting will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Nov. 18, 1924- Jan. 11,1999 PRINEVILLE Dwight Hig-bee, 74, died Jan. 11. Cause of death was unavailable.

He was born in Omaha, and served in the Marine Corps during World War II. He married Edith in 1957 and moved to Prineville in the 1960s, where he was a horse trainer. He moved to Salem in the 1970s and returned to Prineville in 1976. He worked in a wood products mill in Redmond from 1976 until retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Presbyterian church and loved training, riding and racing horses, gardening and watching old movies.

Survivors include his daughters, Sandy Collins of Salem and Hank Beals of Overton, brother, C.V. of Glide; sisters, I.D. Costello of Southern California and Joanne Felton of Gold Beach; 11 grandchildren; and 26 greatgrandchildren. At his request no services will be held. Arrangements are by Prineville Funeral Home.

Bella CaAAdanis Ward Badger Feb. 2,1901 Jan. 19, 1999 Delia Badger, 97, of Salem died Tuesday. She was born in The Dalles and moved to Salem in 1907. She worked at the cannery and retired from the linen mill.

She moved to Evergreen Windsor House six years ago. Survivors include her grandchildren, Michael Simmons of Tualatin and Carol Lewis of Ort-ing, three great-grandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Mt. Crest Abbey Chapel.

Benjaiisln Franklin Krangsr July 17, 1907- Jan. 18, 1999 MONMOUTH Benjamin Krauger, 91, died Monday. He was born in Albany and moved to Independence in 1930. He owned Greenwood Restaurant on State Street in Salem and a coffee shop in the state office building until 1936. He married Rose in 1927; she died in the 1970s.

He enjoyed fishing, pool, cards, golf and dancing. Survivors include his wife, Ver-na, whom he married in 1981; sons, Burney Krauger and Don Stee, both of Monmouth, and Tom Stee of Phoenix, daughter, Barbara Richardson of Independence; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visiting will be 2 to 7 p.m. today in Farnstrom Mortuary in Independence. Services will be 10 a.m.

Friday in the mortuary. Private interment will be in Belcrest Memorial Park in Salem. Contributions: American Heart Association or American Cancer Society. Blanche BotJi Fletcher April 24,1915 Jan. 19, 1999 DALLAS Blanche Fletcher, 83, died Tuesday.

She was born in Portland and married Robert in 1946. They lived in Gearhart for four years, moved to Yaak, and lived on the Air Force base there for three years before coming to Monmouth in 1959. In 1968 they moved to Dallas. She worked in food services at Oregon College of Education, now Western Oregon University, until retiring in 1972. She was a member of Dallas United Methodist Church and enjoyed sewing, reading, camping, fishing and wintering in Arizona.

Survivors include her husband; daughters, Conni Coker of Eugene, and Susan Kellum of Salem; son, Bruce of Dallas; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Bollman Funeral Home. Interment will be in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. He was a member of Northgate Wesleyan Church and enjoyed reading and gardening. Survivors include his wife, Beatrice, whom he married in 1942; daughter, Sharon McClure of Huntington Beach, and granddauther, Annika McLeod, whom he raised as a daughter; and four great-grandchildren. 16, 1999 SUBLIMITY Lisa Silja, 89, died Saturday. She was born in Sunne, Sweden, and married Helge in 1935. They moved to the United States in 1946 and to Portland in 1956. She was a private caterer and worked for Yours Truly Caterers. She enjoyed Scandinavian music and bicycled into her 80s.

Her husband is deceased. Survivors include her daughters, Lillian Bennard of Albany, and Linda Carter of Scio; sisters, Martha Johnson of Portland, Viola Fraser of Lincoln City and Ingrid Jonsson of Sweden; and one grandchild. Memorial services were Tuesday in Finley-Sunset Hills Chapel in Portland. Contributions: charity of choice. David Lee Bates Dec.

12, 1950- Jan. 19., 1999 KEIZER David Bates, 48, died Tuesday. Cause of death was unavailable. He was born in South Gate, and moved to Salem in 1971. He graduated with honors from the American Jewelers Institute in Portland in 1998.

He was a self-employed jeweler and artist and traveled rodeos and fairs selling jewelry. He enjoyed fishing and genealogy. Survivors include his father, Willie Bates of Keizer; brothers, Jeffery of Salem and Larry; and numerous children and grandchildren. Celebration of Life will be 10 a.m. Friday at 814 Faymar Drive NE.

He was born in Hopewell, Pa. He lived in Ohio and Florida before moving to Salem in 1974. He was an accountant for B.F. Goodrich, retiring in 1971. He served a mission for his church in the White Mountains of Arizona from 1983 to 1984.

He was a member of the National Honor Society, South High School in Akron, Ohio, and enjoyed gardening and table tennis. Survivors include his wife, Mildred, whom he married in 1943; daughter, Linda Taylor of Sand-point, Idaho; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visiting will be 1:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Battlecreek Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he was a member. Services will be 2 p.m.

Saturday in the church. Interment will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens. She worked In the Salem Cannery and retired from the Hnen mill In Salem. Daughter, Caroline Simmons' passing pre-oeded her mother's death. Surviving Mrs. Badger are her two grandchildren, Michael immons of Tuelatln, Oregon and Carol Lewis of Orttnfl, Washington. Three great-grand-ohlldren and three great-great -grandchildr also mourn the passing of their beloved grandmother.

Percivai June 10, 1906- Jan. 19, 1999 Edward Percivai, 92, of Salem died Tuesday. He was born in Spirit Lake, Iowa, and served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He retired after 30 years in 1957. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Masonic Lodges.

He was an instructor in diesel mechanics. He enjoyed investing in the stock market and gardening. His first wife, Inez, died in 1982. Survivors include his wife, Christine, whom he married in 1984; stepdaughters, Jeanine Robinson of Woods Cross, Utah, and Janice Byerley of Hillsboro; stepson, Wayne O'Hern of Albany; brother, Lenard O'Hern of Spanaway, seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Visiting will be 4 to 8 p.m.
