1929 -Jan. 23, 1989 TURNER Robert H. Boedigheimer, 59. died Monday in Turner. He was born in Lyons.

He attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Stayton and St. Vincent's Catholic School in Salem, and he graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Salem. He worked for Capitol Lumber in Salem and was production manager for Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co. until retiring in SANDY Mary Edna Gilberg, 84, died Sunday in Sandy.

She was raised and attended school in Waxahatchi, Texas, and lived for many years in northern California She married Arthur Gilberg Sr ori May 16, 1955, in Carson City, Nev They moved to Yamhill in 1959 and owned and operated the Yamhill Variety and Fountain store. Her husband died in 1982, and she moved to Bishop's Healthcare Center in Sandy. Survivors include her son, Arthur Gilberg Jr. of Gresham. Services will begin at 11 a.m.

Thursday at Macy Son mortuary McMinnville. Interment will be in the Yamhill-Carlton Pioneer Cemeterv S-J, 12489 Ida May S. Vincent June 23, 1895 -Jan. 21, 1989 McMINNVILLE Ida May Vincent, 93, died Saturday in McMinnville. She was born in New Meadows, Idaho, and raised in St.

Paul by the Buyserie family. She lived in Newberg in the 1940s and worked in the Riviera Restaurant there. She then lived on a farm on High Heaven Road, near McMinnville from 1949 to 1950. She and her husband donated that property, now known as Camp Smith, to the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She moved back to Newberg in 1951 and to McMinnville about eight years ago.

She was a member of the Newberg Catholic Church, and she loved children and working with the Girl Scouts. She is survived by her daughter, Walsa Cross of Fallon, Nev. Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. today in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, St.

Paul. Scott-McGhehey mortuary is handling arrangements. S-J, 12489 Clifford Walter Arnold Robert William Akin April 12, 1909 -Jan. 20,1989 ALBANY Robert William Akin, 79, died Friday in Corvallis. Born in Colorado Springs, he lived in Southern California from childhood until retiring in 1976 and coming to Albany.

He had been an engineer for United Concrete Pipe in Baldwin Park, Calif. He was a member of the Northwest Steeiheaders Association. He married Gladys on July 4, 1947, and she died in 1985. Survivors include his son, Russell of Brownsville; daughters, Pamela Knofler of Albany and Linda Wheat of Redding, brothers, Kenneth of Azusa, Paul of Jefferson, Dick of Albany and Hollis of Las Vegas, and sister, Jessica Akin of Azusa. Memorial services will begin at 10 a.m.

Wednesday in Fisher mortuary. Interment will be in Knox Butte Cemetery. S-J, 12489 Edith I. Albright Dec. 26, 1910 -Jan.

21, 1989 CORVALLIS Edith I. Albright, 78, died Saturday in Corvallis. She was born in Killarney, Manitoba, Canada, and moved in 1936 to Seattle, where she attended nursing school. She also worked for Frederick Nelson store while living in Seattle. She married Earl Eugene Albright on June 9, 1940, and they moved to Los Angeles.

The couple moved to Corvallis in 1943. She became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1952. She worked at Noland's Department Store in Corvallis and with Oregon State University's Clothing and Textile stock room in the school of home economics. Her husband died in 1977.

Survivors include her son, William H. Albright of Corvallis; and sister, Ruth Middleton of Okotoks, Alberta, Canada. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McHenry mortuary. Private vault interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the the Vina Moses Center in care of the mortuary. S-J. 12489 Harold C. Elkinton July 22, 1900 -Jan. 22,1989 McMINNVILLE Harold C.

Elkinton, 88, died Sunday in Ukiah. Born in Devon, he moved to Sunnyside, in 1912 and to Walla Walla, two years later. He graduated cum laude in 1925 from Whitman College, Walla Walla, and he received a master of arts degree in 1927 from the University of Oregon. He came to McMinnville and organized the department of business administration and economics at Lin-field College. He was chairman of the department for 41 years, and he retired in 1968.

He also taught summer school courses at Portland State University, and Warner Pacific and George Fox colleges. He was a member of the Kiwanis for more than 50 years and was lieutenant governor of the club in 1966 and 1973. He was an organist for the First Baptist Church for more than 35 years. He was McMinnville outstanding citizen in 1976. The Elkinton endowed professorship was established in his honor at Linfield College in 1982.

He married Alice May Davis on July 13, 1930, in Portland. She died in 1988. Survivors include his son, Jack of Vancouver, daughter, Marguerite Keiffer of Ukiah, and sisters, Madeline Hoovel of Lewiston, Idaho, and Virginia Morud of Portland. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday in the church.

Private family interment will be in Riverview Abbey Mausoleum, Portland. Contributions may be made to the church in care of Macy Son mortuary. J. 124, 89 Arvel Charles Graves Feb. 15, 1905 -Jan.

22, 1989 SUBLIMITY Arvel Charles Graves, 83, died Sunday in Sublimity. Born in Marmaduke, he lived in the San Joaquin Valley in California for 50 years before coming to Sublimity four years ago. He was manager of a country club in California for 15 years. He married Opal J. Valentine on Aug.

15, 1926, in Marmaduke. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Samuel Isaiah Briles Jan. 20, 1989 -Jan. 20, 1989 SPANAWAY, Wash.

Samuel Isaiah Briles, infant son of Jeffery Briles, formerly of Salem, and Robin Briles, died Friday at Fort Lewis, Wash. Survivors include his parents; sisters, Amanda Briles, Elizabeth Briles and Heather Briles, all of Spanaway; grandparents, Dale Letherman of Colorado, and Earl and Dorothy Briles of Salem; and great-grandmother, Bertha Briles of Salem. Services will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday in Howell-Edwards-Doerksen mortuary, Salem, and interment will be in Twin Oaks Cemetery, Turner. S-J.

12489 Josef 'Stu' Francis July 29, 1931 -Jan. 21, 1989 NEWBERG Josef "Stu" Francis, 57, died Saturday in Portland. He was born in Portland and attended school in Newberg. He graduated from high school in 1949 and attended Oregon State University for 2V4 years. Involved in local civic affairs, he was general manager of the Berrian Festival, now the Old Fashioned Days, and he was leading junior citizen of 1962.

He was a member of the Newberg Chamber of Commerce, and for awhile served as president. He was a partner in a family-owned movie theater business, and he owned three travel agencies. A racquetball player, he was a member of Willamette Athletic Club. He also played and collected ukeleles. He married Geri in 1986 in McMinnville.

Survivors include his wife; parents, Grace and Ted Francis of Newberg; brother, Bob of Newberg; daughter, Melinda Francis of Tualatin; son, Donald of Tualatin; and stepsons, Todd Nelson of Corvallis and Eric Nelson of Salem. Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. today in Attrell's Newberg Chapel-Brown mortuary. Interment is private. Contributions may be made to the Stu Francis scholarship fund at Newberg High School in care of U.S.

Reinhart, 84, formerly of Salem, died Sunday in Portland. She was born in Salem and lived there until graduating from Oregon State University in 1927. In 1945, she came to Portland, where she was a legal secretary in the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office for many years. She was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She is survived by her husband, J.

Frank, and daughter, Deborah White of Gaston. Private family services will be in Belcrest Memorial Park, Salem. Contributions may be made to the Columbia-Willamette Chapter of the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association. Finley's Sunset Hills Mortuary, Portland, is handling arrangements. J.

12489 Shane Michael Combs Jan. 21, 1989 -Jan. 21, 1989 Shane Michael Combs, infant son of Tamera Combs of Salem, died shortly after birth Saturday in Portland. Survivors include his mother; brother, Neil Combs of Salem; grandparents, Gary and Sharon Combs of Salem; and great-grandparents, Clarence and Dolores Vertz of Redmond and Dave Combs of Mehama. Graveside services will begin at 3 p.m.

Stolk July 13, 1925 Jan. 23, 1989 Ted F. Stolk, 63, of Salem died Monday in Salem. He was born in Clear Lake, and was a lifelong Salem resident. He was a postal supervisor at the Salem main post office and a member of TOPS.

Survivors include his wife, Vedan; sons, Daniel of Gresham, Lloyd of Springfield and Randy of Amity; daughters, Diane Walker of Keizer and Connie Stolk of Klamath Falls; and sisters, Erma Bower of Nigeria, Africa, and Mina Welch of Germany. Visiting will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday in Howell-Edwards-Doerksen mortuary.

Services will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday in the mortuary, and interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, Rickreall. Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army. S-J, 12489 Grace May Dixon April 18, 1904 -Jan. 21, 1989 NEWBERG Grace May Dixon, 84, died Saturday in Newberg.

Born in Spokane, she attended school in Idaho, Washington and Oregon, where her parents were pastors of Nazarene churches. She married John C. Dixon on June 5, 1923, in Nampa, Idaho, and lived on the family farm southwest of Dundee until her husband died in 1979 and she came to Newberg. She was a life member of the Nazarene Church and of the Newberg Church of the Nazarene since 1923. At the church she was missionary president, Sunday school teacher, organist and pianist, and she helped with young people and children's ministries.

She gave children organ and piano lessons, and she enjoyed raising flowers. Survivors include her daughters, Mary G. Johnson of Dayton and Virginia Johnson of Newberg; son, John Jr. of Dayton; brothers, Perry Little of Whittier, Alvin Little of Temple City, Calvin Little of Cornelius and Bruce Little of San Diego; and sisters, Alice Lowry of Nampa, Idaho, and Flora Ayers of Covina, Calif. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m.

Friday in the Newberg Church of the Nazarene. Concluding services and interment will be in Valley View Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the church for music ministry. Attrell's Newberg Chapel-Brown mortuary is handling arrangements. S-J, 12489 Cecil Thomas Anderson Dec 24, 1921 -Jan.

22, 1989 INDEPENDENCE Cecil Thomas Anderson, 67, died Sunday in Portland. Born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, he was raised in Iowa. He served in the Navy during World War II and worked in naval research in Washington, D.C. He earned a doctorate in pharmacology at the College of the Ozarks in Arkansas and moved in 1956 to Seattle, where he was a pharmacist. He lived in Vancouver, for several years before coming in 1972 to Independence, where he was a pharmacist at Taylor's Pharmacy.

He retired three years ago. He married Myrtle May Ming in 1944 in Washington, D.C. She died in 1969. Survivors include his daughters, Shirley Patten and Beverly Smith, both of Vancouver, and Rox-anne Gartner of San Diego; son, Tom of San Diego; sister, Bertha Stevens of Seattle; and brother, Donald of Seattle. Visiting will be from 9 a.m.

to 7 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday in Vancouver mortuary, Vancouver, Wash. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the mortuary.

S-J, 12489 1974. He came to 1 urner from balem in 1951, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and his grandchildren. He attended St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Salem, and he had been a member of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Madge; sons, Steven F.

of Turner, and Michael L. and Dale both of Salem; mother, Luella Boedigheimer of Salem; and sisters, Loraine Holmes of Veneta, and Mae Frichtl of Stayton. Memorial services will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the church. Contributions may be made to St.

17, 1924 -Jan. 22 1989 NEWPORT Frances Katherine Casler, 64, died Sunday in Newport. Born in Beach, N.D., she had been a Newport resident since 1962. She was a homemaker and member of the Catholic Church and the Newport El-kettes Lodge No. 2105.

She married Philip Casler on Sept. 21, 1945, in Forsyth, Mont. Survivors include her husband, Philip; son, Wayne of Newport; daughter, Vicki Moe of Toledo; and brothers, Lawrence and Bill Zinda, both of Wil-baux, Mont. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday in Bateman mortuary, and interment will be in Eureka Cemetery, Newport.

12489 Carol Joy Edgerton Dec. 19, 1950 -Jan. 22,1989 ECHO Carol Joy Edgerton, 38, formerly of Silverton, died of cancer Sunday in Portland. Born and raised in Silverton, she taught in and was the librarian for Echo School for 14 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Hermiston and the Echo Garden Club.

Survivors include her parents, Robert and Marylou Edgerton of Silver-ton; brother, Rob Edgerton of Redmond; and grandparents, Alfey Edgerton and Edna Billings, both of Silverton. Visiting will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today in Unger mortuary, Silverton. Private graveside services will be Wednesday, followed by memorial services at 1 p.m.

Wednesday in the Silverton United Methodist Church. S-J, 12489 Aug. 15, 1897 -Jan. 23, 1989 ALBANY Clifford Walter Arnold, 91, died Monday in Albany. He was born in Salina, and he lived in Lucas, until coming to Albany in 1937. He had been a warehouseman for Albany Ice and Cold Storage, now Albany Frozen Food.

He enjoyed carpentry and helped build several Albany houses. He was a member of the First Evangelical Church and the Albany Masonic Lodge, and he was a World War I Army veteran. He married Sarah on Aug. 29, 1926, in Lucas, Kan. Survivors include his wife; sons, Larry of Tualatin and Walt of Albany; daughters, Avis Nelson of Lebanon, Betty Grubb of Albany and Mary Cle-mons of Seattle; and sister, Mary Smith of Gering, Neb.

Aug. 17, 1907 -Jan. 22,1989 SWEET HOME Opal Millard, 81, died Sunday in Lebanon. Born and raised in Valley, she lived in Juneau, Alaska, for many years before moving to Brownsville in 1945 and to Sweet Home in 1985. She married Leon H.

Millard in 1940 in Reno, and he died in 1980. She is survived by her sister, Myrtle R. Carter of Sweet Home. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday in Steckly-Tracewell mortuary, and private interment will be in Gilli-land Cemetery.

Groups can get help with difficult children SILVERTON Techniques for dealing with especially difficult andor delinquent children will be considered at three workshops here Friday. Leading the sessions will be Gregory Boden-hamer, Orange County, author and educator. A free session for teachers and other school personnel on his "failure free" school program will be at 8 a.m. A session on youth gangs and subcultures will be at 1:15 p.m. and costs $5.

Sandor Weoeroes BUDAPEST, Hungary Sandor Weoeroes, 76, one of Hungary's most prominent poets, died Monday of an illness related to old age. Weoeroes, who published his first volume of lyrical poetry in 1934, was also noted for his translations of works from Russian and English.
