Born in Alva, Okla, he had lived here obituaries Virgil L. Clark BURNT WOODS Virgil L. Clark, 89, of Burnt Woods (Lincoln County), died Saturday. Born in Wells County, he moved to Burnt Woods in 1956. He was an Army veteran of World War I and a foundry worker and farmer.

He was a member of the Church of Christ and American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Marie; sons, Victor Taylor, Emery LaGrange, Norman Hillsboro, and Nelson Springfield, daughters, Mary E. McAlpin, Kokomo, Celestia I. Troyer, Woodburn, Virginia M. Shockey, Bluffton, and Anna L.

Smith, Coldwater, and brothers, Herbert V. Clark, Isabella, Dale W. Clark, Corvallis, and Herman H. King, Owosso, Mich. Services will be at 11 a.m.

"Ed" Shaw, 73, of 4773 Niles Ave. NE, died Saturday. Born in Antlers, he moved to Salem in 1965 from Springfield. He was a retired and a member of Portland Local 701, International Union of Operating Engineers. Survivors include his daughter, Billie Shaw; sons, Eddie, Eugene and Norman; and sisters, Della B.

Shaw, Fresno, Geneva G. Brooks, Salem, Cora Pischel, Oregon City, and Gertrude McGuire, Elk Grove, Calif. The casket Me will be open from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Henry A. Dick SILVERTON Henry A. Dick, 78, of 1418 Pine died Sunday. He was a native of Silverton. A retired logger, he had worked for Silver Falls Lumber Co.

He lived in Crescent City, for 20 years before returning here seven years ago. He was a member of the Masonic and Elks lodges. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; stepson, Jack Solari, Grants Pass; stepdaughters, Rebecca Armfield, Orange, and Mary Mayo, Wenatchee, and sister, Sylvia McKinney, Silverton. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Unger mortuary.

Survivors include his daughters, Bernice Whitson, Scio, and Fern Jackson, Corona, brother, George, Lodi, and sisters, Irene Taylor and Lenna Webster, both of Long Beach, Corrine Sackett, Irvine, Lucille Leichtenwalter, Banning, and Beatrice VanHolst Watson, Beverly Hills, Calif. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Weddle mortuary, Stayton.

Interment will be in Lone Oak Cemetery, Stayton. Contributions may be made to the Oregon Heart Fund. Samuel Sugg McMINNVILLE Samuel Sugg, 83, of McMinnville, died Monday. He was born in Fargo, N.D., and reared and educated in Olds, Alberta, and was a taxicab driver. He moved to Portland in the early 1920s and was manager of Laurelhurst Cleaners for 48 years.

He moved here in 1972 on retirement. Survivors include his daughter, June Bachmann, Dayton; brother, Bud, Edmonton, Alberta; and sister, Pearl Roesner, Sardis, B.C. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Macy Son mortuary, and crypt interment in Evergreen Memorial Park Mausoleum. Marvin V.

Robison WOODBURN Marvin V. Robison, 80, of 1348 Garden Way, died Sunday. Born in Lyons, he moved to Woodburn in 1965. He was a retired tugboat skipper and auto mechanic and a member of the Motor Mechanics Union and the Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife, Emma; daughters, Betty Hawley, Seattle, Ruth Stern, Vancouver, and Eileen Leland, Bothell, and sister, Gayle Long, Seattle.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Simon mortuary. Interment will be in Belle Passi Cemetery. Joseph A. Kirsch MOLALLA Joseph A.

Kirsch, 79, of Molalla, died Monday. He was born in Gervais. He had worked for many years for a gas company. Survivors include his sisters, Margaret Ryan, Molalla, Sister Mary Lucy, Marylhurst, and Teresa Ward, Salem; and brother, John, Salem. Mass will be at 10:30 a.m.

She had worked in shipyards during World War II, was a home nurse, and was a greenhouse worker until her retirement in December. Survivors include her sons, Zack, Salmon Arm, British Columbia, and Lee, Taft; daughters, Ethel Mann, Rochester, and Zouri "Dixie" Brandt and Laura Jackson, both of Woodburn; brother, Harry Gum, Bucklin, and sister, Florence Penna, Clayton, N.M. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cornwell mortuary. Interment will be in Belle Passi Cemetery.

Mildred H. Lindskog INDEPENDENCE Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Farnstrom Sunday. Interment will be in Oakville Ceme- tery, Albany. Born in Corvallis, she came here in 1944 from Tangent.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Monmouth. Survivors include her husband, Donald; sons, Allen and Kenneth, both of Independence, and Bruce, Eureka, daughters, Ann McDowell, Portland, Esther Taasevigen, Canby, and Donna Rietz, Albany; and brother, John R. Driscol McMINNVILLE Marie E. Driscol, 57, of McMinnville, died Sunday. Born in Yamhill, she moved here in 1950. She formerly worked for McMinnville. Hospital.

She was a member of the Yamhill Rebekah Lodge and St. James Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Norwood; sons, Norwood Prince George, B.C. and Steven, Salem; and brother, Walter Russell, Keizer. Mass will be at 11 a.m.

Thursday in St. James Catholic Church. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, under direction of Macy Son mortuary. Ismay Esther Henderson NEWPORT Ismay Esther Henderson, 97, of Newport, died Sunday. Born in Michigan, she was a longtime resident of Toledo until moving here eight years ago.

Survivors include her sons, Mel, Newport, and Dee, Toledo; and daughter, Barbara Young, Portland. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Eureka Cemetery here, under direction of Bateman mortuary. Thomas Alida A. Thomas, 93, of Portland, formerly a resident of Salem, died Saturday. Born in Sweden, she lived here from 1942 to 1972, when she moved to Portland. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Mae Thomas, Fay Ferguson and Frances Wyncoop, all of Portland, Ruth Landry, Lincoln City, and Jean Streicher, St. Helens; sons, John, Forest Grove, and Bruce, Wolf Point, and brother, David Anderson, in Sweden. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Little Chapel of the Chimes, 3018 N. Lombard Portland.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Central Cemetery, Albany. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Fund in care of Good Samaritan Hospital, or the Shriners' Hospital for Crippled Children, both in Portland. Patricia Diane Flores TOLEDO Patricia Diane "Patty" Flores, 23, of Albany, a longtime resident of Toledo, died Friday as a result of an automobile accident. Born in La Junta, she was living in Albany while attending LinnBenton Community College.

She was a 1980 graduate of Toledo High School and the same year held the title of Miss Lincoln County in the Miss Oregon Pageant. She had been an honor student at Oregon State University for two years, and was near graduation in criminal justice at LBCC. She was a member of the Church of Christ on the Hill, Toledo. Survivors include her parents, Susan and Albert Archuleta, Toledo; brothers, Donald Flores, Oahu, Hawaii, Charles Flores, Ketchikan, Alaska, and Eddie Archuleta, Toledo; and sisters, Barbara, Pamela and Lisa Archuleta, all of Toledo. Services will be at 2 p.m.

Thursday in the Church of Christ on the Hill, Toledo. Interment will be in Eureka Cemetery, Newport, under direction of Bateman mortuary. Jane Johnson Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Belcrest Memorial Park for Jane Johnson, 58, of 1212 Vista Ave. SE, who died Sunday.

The casket will be open from noon to 6 p.m. today at Barrick mortuary. Born in Brooklet, lived in Salem since 1964. She was a bookkeeper, and was a past worthy matron of Vista Chapter 184, Eastern Star, and a member of Friendship Shrine No. 8, White Shrine of Jerusalem.

10, 1984 2B Frances E. Johnson Frances E. Johnson, 87, Forest Grove, formerly a resident of Salem, died Sunday. Born in Diamond, she moved to Salem 17 years ago and was a nurses' aide at Boyce Sanitarium until retirement in 1961. She moved to Forest Grove six months ago.

She was a member of the Wesleyan Church. Survivors include her sons, Lloyd, Forest Grove, and Claud, Medford; daughters, Beulah Duffin, Medford, Esther Womelsdorf, Salem, Marjorie West, Hudson, and Alma Stockton; and brother, James Tucker, Kansas City, Mo. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen mortuary. Interment will be in Belcrest Memorial Park.

Malinda M. Wenig Malinda M. Wenig, 82, of 2047 Mill St. SE, died Monday. Arrangements are pending at Barrick mortuary.

Shirley C. Davis Shirley Cronemiller Davis, 65, of Cambridge, formerly a resident of Salem, died Saturday. Born in Boise, she moved here in 1923. She attended Salem schools, then graduated in journalism from Oregon State University. She had lived in Massachusetts for about 15 years and was a retired editor with Allyn and Bacon Publishers there.

Survivors include her son, Alan Davis, San Francisco; daughter, Laurie Atkins, North Canton, father, Lynn F. Cronemiller Salem; and brothers, Lynn F. Cronemiller Jr. and Donald Cronemiller, both of Salem. Services and interment will be in Cambridge.

Born in Henryetta, she moved to Oregon in 1937. She and her mother operated the Best Chance Cafe in north Dallas.
