William Holdorf will be celebrated at a reception on Sunday, June 11 at the Woman's Club in Independence, 340 South 3rd St. Friends of the couple are invited to call between 2 and 5 p.m. and they ask there be no gifts. Hosts for the 50th anniversary party will be the couple's six children and their spouses. They include Mrs.

Dwight Holdorf of Salem, Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Lettin of Salem, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Holdorf of Seattle, Mr.

and Mrs. Denton Hill and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Holdorf of Anchorage, Alaska and Mr. and Mrs.

Richard Ewing of Portland. The family also includes 15 grandchildren. The Holdorfs were married on June 12, 1922 in Greeley, Colo. They came to Oregon in 1939 and farmed at Sherwood until 1945 when they moved to a farm near Dallas. ''i Couple to Celebrate I 4 Miss Sue Corey, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. James E. Corey, will be installed as honored queen of Bethel 48, International Order of Job's Daughters at a ceremony on Saturday, June 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Scottish Rite Temple. There will be a reception following the installation and the interested public is invited to attend both events.

A special ceremony will be used "With a Little Help From My Friends," written especially for the installation by Mrs. Jason Ashford and the reader will be Miss Pam McGilvary. Daughter hostess for the evening will be Miss Kalley Nelson. Hosts will be Mr. and Mrs.

John R. Behnke. Ushers will be Gene Parkins, Robert Crook, John R. Sohrt, John Taylor, Joe Warden and William Riley. Organ music will be provided by Mrs.

Grover Murphy. In charge of the guest book will be Mrs. Dan De-Roos, past honored queen of Bethel 48; programs, Kelly Riley and Debbie Sohrt. Candlelighters will be Kathy Battin and Sherry Jackson. Assisting with the flowers will be Mrs.

Thomas Gibbons, Mrs. Allen Lee and Mrs. William Freele. Installing Officers Miss Caryn Riley, the outgoing honored queen, will serve as the installing officer. She will be assisted by Misses Becky Lee, guide; Marsha Radke, marshal; Vickie Price, chaplain; Key Behnke, recorder; Cathy Wells, senior custodian; Vickie Nunnamaker, junior custodian; and Laurie Shel-ton, flag bearer.

Chemeketa Chapter, Order of DeMolay, Brian Fos-haug, master councilor will perform the crowning ceremony. Miss Virginia Kelsh, Miss Mary Corey and Mike Corey will be soloists. (Palmer's Studio) Past Matrons, OES To Install New Officers Friday SILVERTON Mr. and Mrs. William Merriott will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house on Sunday, June 11. The are inviting tneir friends and relatives to call at their country place, Route 1, Box 133, Silverton, Highway 213, between 1 and 5 p.m. The couple asks there be no gifts.

The Merriotts were married in Corvallis on June 8, 1922 and have spent all their married life in Salem, Wood-burn and Silverton. The goldenweds have one daughter, Loris Forest of Beaver Creek and three grandchildren. Before his retirement in 1962, Mr. Merriott was district manager for Portland General Electric Co. in the Woodburn district.

Since that time they have made their home on Abiqua Creek near Silverton. Mary-Martha Guild to Meet On Thursday The Mary-Martha Guild of St. John Lutheran Church will meet Thursday in the fellowship hall at 1 p.m. Hostesses will be Mrs. Bertha Blume, Mrs.

Roy Scott will be celebrated at an open house on Sunday, June 11 at their home, 1446 Main Philomath. Friends of the couple are invited to call between 2 and 5 p.m. They ask there be no gifts. Donald C. Hale performed the eight o'clock service. The. bride is the daughter of Mrs. Arthur Lane and the bridegroom is the son of Mr.

and Mrs. George Cearley. Of lace and organza was the bridal gown fashioned with long-sleeved lace bodice, and appliques of lace on the skirt. Her full length veil was caught to a leaf style headpiece. She carried a cascade bouquet of pink and maroon carnations and roses.
